Born and raised in Hampton Roads, we are a family-owned second generation pit-master bbq joint, throwing down slow-smoked meaty morsels hot out of our Southern Pride Pits.
The name of our restaurant comes from our dear old dad’s KCBS Competition Cook Team name, “Q-Daddy’s.” Our dad, the family patriarch taught us everything we needed to know about how to do Pulled Pork, Brisket and Ribs just right.
BBQ is a family affair for us. Together, the Witten sibling power team opened QDaddy’s Pitmaster BBQ in January of 2017 with a few of dad’s old smokers to get us started. We rehabed an antique Texaco Gas Station on South Church Street in Smithfield, Virginia and retrofitted it with a commercial kitchen and a dining room for a cozy, throw-back feel.
Smithfield, Virginia welcomed us to their idyllic community with open arms and our little hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint quickly became a hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Our menu is short and sweet to keep the main thing the main thing. Dad always said, “know what you’re good at and do that well over and over again.”
In 2019 we purchased the old Tasty Treat Drive in on N County Drive in Wakefield, Virginia as the future home of our second location. After 14 months of renovations and rehab, QDaddy’s Pitmaster BBQ Wakefield is the hottest new stop on route 460 in Wakefield.
All our food ingredients and preparation uphold the highest standards in the industry, and each of our menu items are freshly prepared everyday in our very busy, working kitchens.

She owns this place. She raised 7 rowdy children to proper adulthood and they all still call, text and visit. Mrs. Lynn is the chief encourager in the QDaddy’s kitchen and everyone on our crew loves getting a little mom-time. She specializes in speedy chicken breading, militant dish washing and she loves treating junior BBQ enthusiast to an ice cream cone behind the counter. The recipes are hers. A native of Suffolk, Virginia, born and raised on the beautiful aroma of country air mingled with Southern Pride pit smoke. Matt and Michaela Witten Skinner
Two for the price of one. After years of flirting with BBQ obsession, these two love birds made career changes and moved across state lines to come on board as the Pitmaster/GM team of our Wakefield location. Matt and Michaela are a natural fit for what we do at QDaddy’s and have fully embraced the land, the lifestyle and the fact it pays to be a trained brisket inspector. Together they have one little junior Pitmaster in training who makes sure they don’t get to sit down when they get home from work.
